Experience in positions typically reserved for men Increased independence & the ability to make one’s own money/support one’s family Increased confidence Feelings of being heroic & truly contributing to the war effort The right to vote

5 Arguments which show WWI didn’t help liberate women:
Women were expected to quit their jobs after the war. Most only earned minimum wage Qualified women were not promoted Many jobs were unpleasant & didn’t require any qualifications Unions made little effort on women’s behalf
