Political Action Committee (PAC): A popular term for a political committee organized for the purpose of raising and spending money to help support candidates for public office. Most PACs represent business, labor or ideological interests.  Examples include: National Rifle Association PAC, American Medical Association PAC

(NP of NYSPAC) The Nurse Practitioner of New York State Political Action Committee (NP of NYSPAC) was formed in 1998 to support the profession and increase NP visibility within New York State's legislative process. NP of NYSPAC has a separate Board of Directors and contributions are made on a bipartisan basis.

(NP of NYSPAC) The PAC is essential to the success of our legislative agenda and increasing the visibility of NPs with important and influential state elected officials. It enables us to attend a variety of political events and functions across the state. It also allows us to support elected officials who share our commitment to the advancement of the profession and quality, cost effective healthcare delivery.
