50 years life expectancy (the newest models are 30 years old now)
Become very fragile with age
Remove the asbestos if at all possible – ever increasing costs of disposal
Asbestos roofs – usually contain no more than 10% white asbestos mixed into the cement to provide strength to the product.
Life expectancy is up to 50 years, last asbestos sheets were manufactured around 1980 that’s a W reg in car speak- so the newest models are 30 years old now.
With age they become very fragile and brittle and repairs become increasingly difficult to carry out .
We would recommend removing the asbestos if at all possible – due to ever increasing costs in disposing of asbestos related products
