The SNA Certificate in School Nutrition program is a certificate of completion program recognized by SNA to individuals who have completed educational requirements which have been established by SNA. It aligns with the USDA standards.

Specialized Training to become eligible for certification
16 hours approved classes:
8 hr. Sanitation , Servsafe, or Equivalent
and
8 hr. Michigan Nutrition I ,Nutrition 101

Renewal- CEU’s
SNA’s program aligns with the USDA Professional Standards so requirements for completion renewal will be based on Membership Type. Ex: Staff: 6 CEU’s , Managers: 10 CEU’s, Directors: 12 CEU’s.
-Identified into the 4 categories- Nutrition, Operations, Administration, and Communication and Marketing.
Certificate Program Period-
Time to attain CEU’s and renewal time

SNA Certificate Program is SEPARATE and DIFFERENT from the Food Protection Manager Certification requirement by local health departments.

11. Renewal Fees Remember!!! There are two renewal fees.
One for Membership and one for the SNA Certificate program. They will come at different times and you will need to pay both bills in order to renew them each year.

13. Rewards and Recognition for Successful Completion
Successful course completion is based on:
Attendance (75%)
Completion of required assignments
Minimum score on Post test (70%),
except ServSafe (75%).
