Moreover, you can explain to your students why the evaluation is important by presenting the objectives and the procedure. You can thus raise their awareness about their role and the purpose of the procedure. Finally, this is a good way to ensure that your students will fill in the online survey for your teaching evaluation. Online Teaching Evaluation: Grab your Smartphone/Laptop/Tablet!
This second series of slides enables you to give clear instructions to your students if you choose to have them fill in the survey in class. We strongly recommend you to do so as it significantly increases the response rate, sometimes even higher than a paper survey (because students who are not in class that day can still answer at home, as a survey is generally open for 3 weeks). We also recommend taking 10 minutes at the beginning of the course, in order to give them these instructions and the time to answer to the questionnaire. Moreover, a week before the planned evaluation, inform your students to bring their laptop, smartphone or tablet. Invitation to fill in the survey: You can show this slide. Take 10 minutes, if possible at the beginning of your course, in order to give instructions to your students. Having your students fill in the survey will take no more than 10 minutes. Answering the questions can be done on a smartphone, laptop or tablet. Students who don’t have any of these electronic devices could fill in the survey at home on their computer, in the computer room or on a terminal in the halls of the university buildings. Students will find in their inbox a link to the survey for your course (course name appears in the subject line). Students have to click on “submit” before closing the browser. Students’ anonymity is guaranteed because the link between their and the questionnaire is broken once they have submitted the questionnaire. Students who do not participate will receive two to three reminders within the following days. Remember them that their contribution is essential.
