2 Learning Outcome #1: Participants will be able to connect the areas of the CLDE Emergent Theory (civic ethos, civic literacy and skill building, civic inquiry, civic action, and civic agency) thread with a practical campus application. Learning Outcome #2: Participants will be able to understand the challenges of moving from theory to application with regards to civic learning and democratic engagement work. Learning Outcome #3: Participants will be able to discuss opportunities and challenges of designing institutional initiatives about civic learning and democratic engagement.

3 NASPA's Lead Initiative on Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement (Lead Initiative) is committed to encouraging and highlighting the work of student affairs in making civic learning and democratic engagement a part of every student's college education. To be a part of this initiative you must turn in an application each summer.
