The two main types of sculpture are:
In-The-Round- A sculpture that can be seen from all sides Relief- A sculpture that can only be seen from the front and possibly two other sides

Non-Objective- Art that is not representational, containing no recognizable figures or objects Biomorphic- Shapes derived from living things Geometric- Mechanical/ Man-made shapes such as squares and circles.

Negative Space- Area that surrounds and sometimes passes through an object. Positive Space- The Object itself

A solid form with little to no negative space….. MASS

Kinetic- A sculpture that has Movement Static- Shows no movement or Action

Armature- supporting skeletal structure that prevents the sculpture from colapsing

way down the Thigh ~Legs are about Half the entire length of your body

For this project you will be creating a Bust out of clay. Bust: A sculpture of a human from the shoulders up.

NON-OBJECTIVE art has no recognizable subject matter.
The actual subject matter might be color or the composition of the work itself as in “Blue, Orange, Red” by Mark Rothko.
