1 James and the Giant Peach takeaway homework
The aim is to reach 3 house points by completing one or more tasks by the Christmas holidays (last hand in date: Friday 14th December.)  You will notice that each project on the menu has a number within brackets; this lets you know how much that project is worth in house points. Where there is writing involved, an absolute maximum of half a page of A4 is fine.  It is completely up to you what projects you choose to do from the menu, as long as you aim to reach 3 points by the end of the term. You can do 3 smaller pieces of work or combine a 2 and a 1, or just do one piece worth 3 points. You will be awarded the number of house points you achieve, up to a maximum of 3, on Friday 14th December. You can of course hand the homework in at any time and we’ll still award your points on the 14th December. Enjoy!! Write an six line poem about James and his life. (1) Research another country (not America!) Imagine that you are on the peach and it lands in your chosen country – where does it land and what can you see?(3) Imagine you are on a boat in the ocean and you see the peach floating towards you. What are your first thoughts? What are you going to do? (3) Draw a picture of the peach and the insects on top of it. Include James as well if you can. (1) Create a James and the Giant Peach quiz. (2) Write some facts (up to 3 each) about the insects on the peach. What are these creatures like in real life? (2) Search for more information about Roald Dahl – create a fact sheet to amaze us all. (2) Create a word search using at least 12 James and the Giant Peach keywords. (2) Write a postcard using full sentences back to your family at home. Explain you have ridden on a peach! Use your senses to say how you feel. (2) Create a song about James’ adventure.(1)  Sing it to the class (2) Recreate the story of James and the Giant peach using materials at home – take pictures of what you achieve or bring your model(s) in. (3)
