Warm-Up: Please complete the UNIT 4 ANTICIPATION GUIDE. Make sure you choose an opinion and provide an explanation for each statement.

2. What is a perfect world?
On your white paper, show your idea of a perfect world. You can write, draw, or do this however you want to, as long as you include all the elements that you would put in your perfect world.

3. Welcome to Utopia
Read each statement and determine the pros and cons of each utopian characteristic. Then decide if that is something you would have in your perfect world.

4. Flip your white paper over.
Brainstorm: Develop a list of problems in today’s society. Give two or more examples/evidence to support each problem you come up with. Be ready to share.

Tuesday Warm-Up: Get out your notes sheet from yesterday. Get a post-it note ready. As we view “human dystopia” – jot down ALL the dystopian characteristics you can see in the clip.

13. Dystopias of the Past, Present, and Future
Each group (2-3 people) has a different article to read and discuss.
As a group, create a small poster that includes the following:
Your Topic (from the article)
At least three ways it relates to dystopia
Is it a dystopia of the past, present, or future?
Each group will present to the class after 40 minutes of work time.
