Circle
Circle, in geometry, plane curve such that each point on the curve is the same distance from a fixed point—called the centre of the circle. The circle belongs to the class of curves known as conic sections because a circle can be described as the intersection of a right circular cone with a plane that is perpendicular to the axis of the cone.

Cone (geometry), in geometry, surface generated by a straight line that moves along a closed curve while always passing through a fixed point. Two straight lines are called parallel if they are the same distance apart everywhere. In this diagram the two line segments XX’ and YY’ are parallel because at all points they are separated by the distance d. In the geometry of a plane (flat) surface, if XX’ and YY’ were extended as straight lines indefinitely far in either direction, they would always remain the same distance apart. If a third straight line, such as ZZ’, crosses the two parallel lines, it cuts each of them at the same angle (A, A’).
