2 What is Mentoring Mentoring is: Mentoring is NOT: - Voluntary
- Intentional Learning - Reciprocal Mentoring is NOT: A cloning process Counseling Lecture series

3 Phases of Mentoring Preparing – Setting your goals, create an action plan, get acquainted Negotiating – Agree on what the next steps are Enabling – Doing the work, learning skills from your mentor Closure – Celebrate and reflect on progress, conclude the relationship

4 What to Expect Mentors/Mentees are expected to commit to one semester (4 months) after taking the Compass Class. Mentors/Mentees are expected to connect with each other at least once a month (phone, , face-to-face, lunch, etc.). Choose two Mentors after today’s discussion.

5 Time to Meet the Mentors
Rotate through each station using the questions provided to guide your discussion. The Mentors have also taken the personality assessment. See what Mentors have the same characteristics as you.

6 All classes meet from 3:30pm – 4:45pm in HRD room 1204A.

7 Time to Choose your Mentors
