It seems strange not to leave a tip for the waitress here in China, but “when in Rome, do as the Romans.” “out in the middle of nowhere” We drove for a long time before we found the restaurant. It’s out in the middle of nowhere. A place “out in the middle of nowhere” is in a remote area, far from towns, villages, or houses.
