Food Quality Protection Act of 1996 By Julia Coffman

General Information The FQPA stands for Food Quality Protection Act.
It was drafted in 1995 and then unanimously passed by congress in 1996 and then signed by Bill Clinton on August 3, 1996. There are no amendments to this Act and it is a National Act.

Description This Act amends the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act and the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. This act ensures that the levels of pesticide residues in food meet strict standards for public health protection. Under this law the environment protection agency is required to better protect infants and children from pesticides in food and water from indoor exposure to pesticides.
