The king should know that the people who came up to us from you have gone to Jerusalem and are rebuilding that wicked city. They are restoring the walls and repairing the foundations. - Rehum and Shimshai I will make it as a small skit, every kid will read one of these messages

14 The king sent this reply:
Issue an order to these men to stop work, so that this city will not be rebuilt until I so order. - King Artaxerxes

15 King Darius became the king of Persia

16 After the king Darius became the king of Persia, Jeshua and Zerubbabel continued building the temple of God. Back to work!

17 Bad people came back again!
It might work this time.. Some bad people from the surrounding area were not happy to rebuild a place for God and they were trying to discourage and to trouble them in building. Moreover they sent a message to the king Artaxerxes.

18 To Darius the king: All peace. Let it be known to the king that we went into the province of Judea, to the temple of the great God, which is being built with heavy stones is being laid in the walls; and this work goes on diligently and prospers in their hands.

19 Then we asked those elders, and spoke thus to them: “Who commanded you to build this temple and to finish these walls?” And thus they returned us an answer, saying: “We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and completed.

20 Tattenai and your companions the Persians who are beyond the River ,
Keep yourselves far from there. Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God on its site. - The King Darius

23 Finally, the temple of God
was built!

24 Jews celebrated the temple completion
Everyone was happy as they have now a place to gather together and worship the merciful God.

25 Have all the problems been solved?

26 Yay! Now they have a home to stay, a place to pray but still walls to protect their city or laws to tell them what is wrong and what is right?

27 Who is Ezra? “.. He was skilled scribe in the law of Moses, which the lord, God of Israel, has given” He is also one of those people who were taken by force away from their home and come back with the other descendants. Ezra Here is God’s plan: God made the king artaxerxes, king of Persia, to assign Azra to teach the people the word of God.

28 “You, Ezra, according to your God-given wisdom,
“You, Ezra, according to your God-given wisdom, Check what Artaxerxes asked Ezra to do.....” (Ezra 7:25)

29 “Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.” (Ezra 10:1) As Ezra was a priest (like abona) he was asking the people to repent for their sins they have done.
