We are approximately 500 employees in Central Florida. Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Lake County. (one branch in Volusia) 22 branches (soon to be 23 – Poinciana) 6 High school branches (soon to be 9) Serve over 160,000 members Hold just over $1.8 billion in assets Est Orange County Teachers Credit Union Community charter – March 2006 CFE's field of membership is based on a community charter. Therefore, anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, or Lake County may join. Businesses and other legal entities may join as well. If you become a member of CFE, your immediate family members are automatically eligible to join. Immediate family members include parents, children, grandparents, siblings, spouse, and stepparents. Our 1st High School Branch
High School Program History In an effort to increase financial literacy among high-school students, CFE Federal Credit Union launched the High School Branch Program in 2008. We currently sponsor branches in 6 Florida High Schools: Timber Creek High School, Lake Brantley High School, Poinciana High School, Boone High School, Oak Ridge High School, and Colonial High School. Oak Ridge High School The JA Academy is a magnet school in partnership with Orange County Public Schools that teaches students leadership and entrepreneurial skills through an integrated and challenging high school curriculum. 90% of the student tellers from this branch are members of the Junior Achievement. NAF’s Academy of Finance connects high school students with the world of financial services, offering a curriculum that covers entrepreneurship, banking and credit, financial planning, international finance, securities, insurance, accounting, and economics, among other topics. Program Expansion We’ve had a very successful 10 years in this program and we’re continuing our expansion! We’re currently in the implementation phase of adding three new High School Branches. UCF FCU merger with CFE March 2011 3 branches UCF Commons (off campus) UCF Campus UCF Challenger East Orlando UCF Federal Credit Union has been on campus for more than 40 years Market Days, Light-Up UCF, and a $5K Tuition Giveaway Market Days are held every Wednesday throughout the semester, our staff wore clever t-shirts and offered account opening incentives that got the students’ attention. students would use their smart-phones to enter for a chance to win $5,000 towards tuition. Thousands of fans were distributed donning the image of the campaign mascot, Jack the Jester, and students were asked to take a picture with him using their smart-phones. Then, using the mobile application Instagram, students could upload the photo and give UCF Federal Credit Union a shout-out by “#hashtagging” our special code, and by doing that, they were automatically entered to win. UCF Knights Debit Card Show off your Knight pride with an official UCF debit card from CFE Federal Credit Union. Every time you use the card for every day purchases, CFE makes a donation to UCF Athletics. CFE has locations in the John T. Washington Center, CFE Arena and University Commons plaza. Financial Literacy CFE offers financial literacy workshops for students and employees that can be customized to meet the class or club’s needs. Some topics include: Basic Budgeting Establishing/Repairing Credit Debt Management Identity Theft Repaying Student Loans Investment Basics CFE can work directly with professors and departments to design the exact program they are looking for.
