2
Previously on Part I.I We can either:
Corrupt the image of God (my dad). Prevent God for possible salvation (me).
3
Previously on Part I.II Conditions to share testimony:
Born again, saved followers of Christ. Without savior, no story to share.
4
III MEANING OF “SHARING YOUR TESTIMONY”
5

What is the goal? Share how you’ve been saved.
Point to Jesus and HIS story. Spread the gospel. Jesus is the Hero of YOUR story; Not you.

The Gospel = History of Messiah. Died for our sins. Resurrection.
Eternal life. Good news!

–1 Peter 3:15 ESV (Emphasis added)
“but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,” –1 Peter 3:15 ESV (Emphasis added)
9
This hope refers to: A believer of the Gospel A follower of Christ
A born again Christian
10
As such, we ought to: Share our story Share the story of Christ
11
Scare to share? What do you risk?
They might stop talking to you Upset because they blame God Anger, beating, discredit, false accusations, deception, …
12
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” – Matthew 16:24 ESV
13
Later, Matthew 26 Jesus is brought to trial Confirms being the Son of God High priest tears up his robe They spit, strike and slap Him … because He was giving the testimony of the Living God.
14
How often do we see disciples being persecuted?
Peter and John arrested by Sadducees and flogged Stephen stoned to death Saul (Paul) imprisoned many Christians King Herod executes James and imprisons Peter Jews stone Paul nearly to death Paul and Silas are flogged and imprisoned by Gentiles in Thessalonica. List goes on…
15
If you think this is old story and not actual, then check this out:
16
Christians are persecuted every day for the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the world today
17
“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues, and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles. When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death, and you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next, for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.” –Matthew 10:16-25
18
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
– Matthew 5:10 ESV
19
His Promises Help of the Holy Spirit To endure = be saved
Persecution for righteousness = Kingdom of heaven
20
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” – Ephesians 6:12 ESV “ I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.” – John 17:14 ESV
21
God wants to rescue His sheeps. He wants to use your story
