ENTREPRENEURS An entrepreneur is a person that takes a risk to start up a business. They risk their own money and their own time because they believe their business ideas will make a profit. Entrepreneurs bring together natural, human, and capital resources to produce goods. The economies of Germany, Russia, and the United Kingdom encourage private ownership and entrepreneurship.

Arthur Blank He was a young entrepreneur that co-founded Home Depot. Now owns the Atlanta Falcons. As of 2008, he was worth about 1.3 billion dollars.

Sam Walton He was a businessman and entrepreneur born in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. He is best known for founding the retailers Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. The first true Wal-Mart opened on July 2, 1962 in Rogers, Arkansas.

Mark Zuckerberg He is an American computer programmer and Internet entrepreneur. He is best known for co-creating the social networking site Facebook. In 2010, Zuckerberg was named Time magazine's Person of the Year. As of 2011, his personal wealth was estimated to be $17.5 billion.

Young Entrepreneurs Assignment: Imagine you are an entrepreneur creating your own company in a mixed economy. On your own sheet of paper, write a one page summary explaining what type of business or product you would make, how is your product or service produced, and for whom you are selling your product and service.
