20
1st Period… Bright and early!
“Just don’t piss off Mrs. Padgett and you’ll be perfectly fine.” “Try your best in this class – it counts!” “Just do your work and you’ll get good grades.” “Don’t mess up! Or die! Dying is bad…” “Okay listen.. Stop being a scrub and do your homework because you only have three years left. You’ll thank yourself later.” “This year is hard and takes forever, but you still need to pass.” “High School can be fun when you pass your classes!” “Don’t stress out, plan studying not cramming.”
21
3rd Period… is today over yet?
“Be ready for hard assignments and brain storm rarely. Complete all homework and achieve desired results.” “If you work hard, pay attention, and are consistent with homework you will be more than fine in this class.” “Don’t slack off.” “Don’t fall behind. Once you get an F or even a D, you’re screwed because it’s hard to bring it back up. Also, get on the teachers’ good side, or just stay quiet the majority of the year.” “Always come prepared. Never feel like you’re less than others. Be confident, and never give up.” “Bring your textbooks!” “If Dean Highsmith asks you to donate blood, just tell him you’re fifteen – it works every time.” “Write down the agenda!” “Don’t get lazy. You want to go to college, right?” “Listen to every word that comes out of Mrs. Padgett’s mouth because in one moment you’re going to see how what she is saying comes true.” “You need to read the instructions, not just skim them.”
22
4th period… LUNCH TIME! “Read the books…”
“Hold on tight and don’t look back.” “Be nice to Mrs. Padgett and don’t eat in class.” “Mrs. Padgett doesn’t hate you; she’s just annoyed with you.” “Actually read Lord of the Flies – it’s a good book.” “Never make Mrs. Padgett mad.” “Find outlets like dance or yoga to release stress built up at school or you will feel swamped and get anxiety problems.”
23
5th period… why isn’t it 7th period?!?
“Don’t go on your phone except for Wednesday.” “Whatever you do, don’t be afraid to ask for cookies.” “Make sure you bring the materials you need everyday and bring Mrs. Padgett potatoes!” “Just do your work and school will be fun and easy.” “Don’t talk too much and don’t be loud because it is annoying and distracting.” “Don’t fail.” “Get a big binder.” “No throwing!”
24
6th period… get your head out of your backpack!
“Just do your work. Turn in your homework. And make Mrs. Padgett laugh. Her class is easier when she is happy!” “Don’t be mean to Mrs. Padgett! She’s the only teacher who is normal in this school.” “Don’t give Mrs. Padgett attitude. Just be yourself and relax. Also, do your work. This class is easy. Lastly, don’t be annoying little brats.” “Copy down the agenda every Monday or you will forget a lot of tests/quizzes/homework assignments.” “Learn how to whisper because Mrs. Padgett can hear EVERYTHING!” “Read the books or you will fail the tests.” “When Mrs. P is in a bad mood just bring her food. Don’t YOLO ever.” “Mrs. Padgett’s good at catching cheaters.” “Mrs. Padgett knows everything.” “Do all of the assignments honestly and to not just do them for the grade. There’s a reason why she gives us the assignments.”
25
7th period… I don’t care anymore! I just want to go home!
“Believe in yourself.” “Don’t sweat it, just get it.” “Don’t be too hard on yourself, but at the same time, do your best.” “Try to get your homework done early.” “Do not spray perfume. Do not eat in class. Keep up with reading.” “Listen to Mrs. Padgett; it will help you later – trust me.” “Don’t say YOLO or place the term YOLO in anything you write.” “Mrs. Padgett knows all. Seriously, don’t use your phones unless given permission to.” “Shut up when Mrs. P is sitting there silent, staring off or at the class. It means she’s getting tired of your mouth being open.”
