Circle= continuity of health care
Triangle= 3 aspects of well-being; social, physical, and mental
Hands= caring of each HOSA member
Colors: Navy= loyalty to healthcare profession; White= purity of purpose; Maroon= compassion of members

Adopted in 2012 for marketing purposes

4. The goals of HOSA Promote physical, mental, and social well being
Develop effective leadership qualities/skills
Develop effective communication skills
Develop character
Develop responsible citizenship traits
Understand the importance of caring for oneself as well as serving others
Build self-confidence and pride in one’s work

Make realistic career choices and seek successful employment in the health care field
Develop an understanding of importance of interaction and cooperation with other students and organizations
Encourage individual and group achievement
Develop an understanding of current health care issues, environmental concerns, and need of the community
Support Health Science Technology Education objectives
Promote careers in health care

6. HOSA Structure: Level I – Local Chapters
Secondary (HS) and Postsecondary (collegiate) students pursuing health careers.
Health science instructor is advisor
Participate in school and community activities and state and national competitions
Level II – State Associations
State officers elected by local chapter voting delegates
State advisor is part of Dep’t of Education
Board of Directors governs the association
Level III – National Level
Endorsed by US Dep’t of Education
Executive Council (Nat’l Officers) conduct business, plan activities
