STANDARD: Locate selected geographic features in SWA including rivers, seas, gulfs, oceans, straits, and canal. Essential Question for Thursday August 24, 2017: What is the most prominent land mass in the SWA? What type of place is it? Warm-Up: Describe how location affects a society’s economy, culture, and development. TODAY WE WILL: Vocabulary Quiz #1 Introduction of Geographic Features Southwest Asia (SWA).

Make-up Vocabulary Quiz is Wednesday, August 30th for anyone who failed the first attempt. Standard: Locate selected geographic features in SWA including rivers, seas, gulfs, oceans, straits, and canal. Locate the countries of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Turkey, & Afghanistan on a map of SWA. Essential Question for Friday August 25th: Name the two largest rivers in SWA. Together what are they called? Warm-Up: In your own words, describe the shape of the Arabian Peninsula? TODAY WE WILL: 1. Label and color our Political Maps of SWA regarding bodies of water and countries
