They brought back animals, plants, and journals.
They mostly canoed, walked, and rode horses in the mountains

They went through many states to get to the Pacific ocean.
They met a lot of native American tribes along the way in many different states.

They went on the expedition because Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana purchase and did not know what was there or who was there so Lewis and Clark went to explore the new land.
