Team 7 - COST Robot The COST Robot (Cartographic Order Specific Task Robot) is a small, compact robot capable of fully traversing and mapping a maze. In addition, this design serves as a proof of concept for a robot whose purpose is to perform various tasks located throughout a maze. The robot will use the self-generated map of the maze to revisit specific locations marked by colored LEDs in a predetermined, user-specified order. The robot will be equipped with three types of sensors: three short-range sensors for hit detection, a long-range sensor for to-scale mapping, and a color sensor to locate lights. Project-Specific Success Criteria An ability to detect proximity to maze walls and prevent wall collisions. An ability to find specific locations in the maze based on the placement of colored lights. An ability to turn and change direction of movement. An ability to generate an ASCII representation of the explored maze.
