8 DWCRA Women as Bank Agent - a model
NABARD has piloted the model as “Bank Sakhi” and suggested for replication Stree Nidhi positioned as corporate BC to SBI and Andhra Bank . Stree Nidhi is supporting exclusively DWCRA women as BCA. DWCRA woman is getting livelihood as Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) for managing the kiosk. As on date 86 centres are functioning  74 VLEs getting Income up to Rs. 5000/-  11 VLEs getting Rs. 5000/- to Rs. 10,000/-  1 VLE getting more than Rs. 10,000 700 CSPs under discussion, 350 Upcoming under APRIGP.

9 Status of Implementation
In order to engage BC, the banks are following Sub Service Area (SSA) model for coverage of villages under financial inclusion plan. Each SSA will consist of a cluster of 2 to 5 villages with a total population of 1500 to 2000. In Andhra Pradesh there are 8229 SSA points, out this 6576 SSA points are covered by corporate BCs and the rest 1653 SSAs are covered by Bank Branches. 6576 SSAs are covered through the Corporate Business orrespondents that were entered in to Agreements with Banks through RFP Process.

10 Way forward Create opportunities for DWCRA Women to work as BC or BCA Banks are re-allocating the SSAs wherever the originally appointed BC ceases to function. SN or any BC may be allotted such locations and support DWCRA women. Bring as many banking activities as possible under BC/BCAs Move towards cashless transactions, wherever possible Implement Financial Inclusion agenda of the Govt. High quality banking services at the doorsteps of the underprivileged SLBC to constitute a sub committee to work out modalities to employ DWCRA women as BCs across the state.
