2. What is turnitin? Turn-it-in
A computerized tool in ensuring that papers/reports written by student is free from plagiarism.

3. Why should we use Turnitin

A high Similarity Percentage will engage the students to take extra effort in trying to improve the report.

4. SIMILARITY PERCENTAGE for FYP Report < 30%
Turnitin report will display the percentage of similarities based on:
Green : % of Similarity
Yellow : 25 – 49% of Similarity
Orange : % of Similarity
Red : 75 – 100% of Similarity
SIMILARITY PERCENTAGE for FYP Report < 30%
For Chap 2 : Literature Review, similarity percentage < 20 %

5. HOW TO START USING TURNITIN?

17. For first time submission, you will see the SIMILARITY PERCENTAGE in minutes. For resubmission, the SIMILARITY PERCENTAGE will be generated after 24 hours from your resubmission.

If somehow you forgot the Turnitin password, just click the ‘forgot your password’ link, fill in your name and address & an activation will be sent to you. (Your last name is your MATRIC NO). The coordinators DO NOT KEEP your password!
The turnitin account will be deactivated on 23rd November (11.59pm)
