1 “Supplement your faith with virtue."
Divine Qualities “Supplement your faith with virtue."

2 The Demands for Moral Courage
Being without fear of man

3 Matthew 10:27-31 What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.  And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.  Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.  But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.  Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

4 The Demands for Moral Courage
Being without fear of man Acknowledging Christ before men

5 Matthew 10:32-33 So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven,  but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

6 The Demands for Moral Courage
Being without fear of man Acknowledging Christ before men Resisting the Devil

7 1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.

8 The Demands for Moral Courage
Being without fear of man Acknowledging Christ before men Resisting the Devil Confessing our sins to one another

9 James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

10 The Demands for Moral Courage
Being without fear of man Acknowledging Christ before men Resisting the Devil Confessing our sins to one another Rebuking and forgiving sin

11 Luke 17:1-3 And he said to his disciples, “Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin. Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”

12 The Demands for Moral Courage
Being without fear of man Acknowledging Christ before men Resisting the Devil Confessing our sins to one another Rebuking and forgiving sin Making a defense for the hope that is in us

13 1 Peter 3:13-16 Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

14 The Demands for Moral Courage
Being without fear of man Acknowledging Christ before men Resisting the Devil Confessing our sins to one another Rebuking and forgiving sin Making a defense for the hope that is in us Contending for the faith

15 Jude 3 Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.

16 The Demands for Moral Courage
Being without fear of man Acknowledging Christ before men Resisting the Devil Confessing our sins to one another Rebuking and forgiving sin Making a defense for the hope that is in us Contending for the faith Living a godly life in Christ Jesus

17 2 Timothy 3:10-13 You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, my persecutions and sufferings that happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra—which persecutions I endured; yet from them all the Lord rescued me. Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
