3 Our Program 9th Grade Support Small School Experience
Annual High School Retreat College Prep Supports students in meeting and surpassing 4 year college entrance requirements. Clubs ASB, Robotics, Green Club, Roots and Shoots, JSA, MUN, and other activities Senior Project Opportunity to learn and use creativity, planning skills, and communication skills to design and develop a project they are passionate about. 20% failure rate in other schools in the district. Ours is much lower than any other school in the district.

Are exposed to curriculum that focuses on: *Mastery *Depth of knowledge *Collaboration/Integration Have choices via: *Student led projects in class *Community *Focus Week *11th and 12th grade Science and Math *Senior Project BSD Grad requirements and true for all schools

6 High School Athletics IS Students are eligible to try out for/participate in athletics at their “home high school.” Coaches welcome IS Students. About 35-75% play high school sports. Register at FamilyID.com Complete physical imPACT test BE PROACTIVE! Mention Sports on this slide. Many fall sports begin August 20th.

Review Synergy with them weekly. Teach students to self-advocate – let them try to solve problems or address concerns on their own. Listen to and support your child when they have social and emotional struggles. Make time to connect with your student. Limit Phone Use/Social Media during study time.
