45 minutes once a week of each of the following: Monday Music – Mr. Van Oostrom Tuesday PE– Mrs. Maack Wednesday Computer Lab Thursday Art- Mrs. Murphrey Friday Library- Mrs. Boorse All specials take place 7:55-8:40

3 Homework & Communication
Communication folder MUST be checked daily by teacher & parent(s) MUST be brought to school each day Remove papers daily Behavior calendar needs to be initialed by parent for yellow or below Homework Grade level weekly menu see example Repetition of skills already taught Weekly reading—minimum of 60 minutes/week (weekends included!) Spelling practice activities weekly Additional practice will be assigned as needed Monthly projects are due the last Friday of each month. Homework/Project info available on class website. 4 Mariposa’s School-Wide PBIS Program
What is PBIS? Positive Behavior Intervention System Focuses on positive rewards for good behavior Creates a plan for “teaching” appropriate student behaviors Creates a plan to address undesirable student behaviors through teacher and administrative interventions Lesson plans build on Mariposa LifeSkills Consistency throughout the school All staff expectations are the same, using the same language and the same series of rewards and consequences

This is an application based math resource. It encourages students to think creatively, develop critical thinking skills, and acquire a deeper understanding of the mathematical content. 18 Ways You Can Support Your Child’s Learning
Read with them every week Write…even if it’s only a few sentences. Skip count (2’s, 5’s, 10’s) forward & backwards Sort & count money Practice addition & subtraction facts (flash cards for fluency) Technology (zearn.org, Word, code.org, web links or other resources online) Telling time using an analog clock (not only digital) Go over the homework with your child and have them make corrections if mistakes were made.
