It also shows what is valuable to the people of the country.

As the population of the world continues to grow, more jobs, food, and resources will be needed. People can only live on a small part of the Earth’s land.
People move to different places on Earth for many reasons (climate, jobs, religion). When people move it causes cultural diffusion (the spreading of cultures). How people are spread on the Earth is called population distribution.

Cities have a higher population density than rural areas. Population Density is an average of how many people live per square mile in an area. As people continue to move to cities, Urban Sprawl occurs. The boundaries of cities and their suburbs grow larger.
