1 Alma 32

2 President Spencer W. Kimball prior to 1978 Revelation
'Revelations will probably never come unless they are desired. I think few people receive revelations while lounging on a couch, I believe most revelations would come when a man is on his tiptoes, reaching as high as he can for something which he knows he needs, and then there bursts upon him the answer to his problems.' "

3 Zoramites… Were once taught the gospel, but chose to dissent and follow Zoram Now believed: No need for the Law of Moses No need for the Gospel of Christ Mix of Christian/Jewish/Ba’al/Mayan Could only worship once a week, in a synagogue they built Worship was restricted to the rich Worthiness determined by wealth; an outward, visible proof In all likelihood, the poor were artisans and farmers

4 The Poor Zoramites Alma 32

5 Question: Can a man live a life of obedience, receive all the saving ordinances, but lack humility and have a prideful heart, and still be exalted? Why not?

6 Humility Alma 32: 13 And now, because ye are compelled to be humble blessed are ye; for a man sometimes, if he is compelled to be humble, seeketh repentance; and now surely, whosoever repenteth shall find mercy; and he that findeth mercy and endureth to the end the same shall be saved. Finds Mercy Mercy + Enduring = Salvation Humility Repentance

7 President Ezra Taft Benson
"God will have a humble people. Either we can choose to be humble or we can be compelled to be humble. Alma said, 'Blessed are they who humble themselves without being compelled to be humble.' (Alma 32:16.) "Let us choose to be humble. We can choose to humble ourselves by conquering enmity toward our brothers and sisters, esteeming them as ourselves, and lifting them as high or higher than we are. We can choose to humble ourselves by receiving counsel and chastisement. We can choose to humble ourselves by forgiving those who have offended us. We can choose to humble ourselves by rendering selfless service.
