**These identifiers do not help differentiate adjectives from adverbs Derivational suffix (-ly)- literally, adverbs can be derived from adjectives (quickly, pleasantly, happily) -ly means “like” (quick-like, pleasant-like, happy-like) Also note the kind of information it adds to the sentence: time, place, manner, frequency (this is adverb info) Adverbs are positioned in the predicate
