Clinical Attachments Traditionally SPRs do Year One in GIM at a DGH then Year Two in Geriatrics at same DGH Many ST3s have started in Teaching Hospitals Overall spend 3 Years in Geriatric Medicine and 2 in GIM

Geriatrics Rolling Training Programme
Training days in geriatric medicine happen around once per 2 months Cover geriatric specialist and related topics Organised and run by 3 Trainees and one Consultant supervisor Presentations by guest speakers from specialties

Geriatrics Rolling Training Programme
Several topics on each day are researched and presented by trainees Aims to cover topics based on curriculum Rolling programme which repeats every three years – so over 5 years a second chance to attend most days!

Hospital Teaching RVH - Twice weekly educational meetings. One of which is “MDT”, also can attend Grand Round at WGH Borders – 4 meetings per week: Elderly medicine; Grand Round; Journal Club; X-ray Meeting

Hospital Teaching QMH – Weekly lunchtime meeting, monthly Grand Round
Liberton – Weekly formal teaching, X-ray Meeting RIE – Weekly lunchtime educational session in MOE, Weekly X-ray meeting, Monthly Geriatric Research Seminar, Weekly Grand Round
