3 FNAL ARCS Testing Failures
This Week 1 with high noise in all channels in both modes (HV issue, under study, grade F for now) 1 developed high current after repair (grade F for now) 3 PHL+, 2 PHL-, 3 shorted channels 6 (!) times in the last 24 modules problem occurred in channel 745: 2 PHL+ 2 PHL- 2 noisy Cumulative 1 grade “B” (mishandling) 2 HV of high current problems Total of 5 pinholes (60 modules produced)

4 ARCS retesting Several requests to replace HPK modules on first 4 HPK rods due to uncovered problems. Last week looked at 2. Both developed problems after LT and before SRT or MRT. More to come this week. Confirmed on ARCS. Both modules show shorts. One was easily fixed, module put back on rod. Second one showed 6 bad channels (4 shorts) and IV curve with breakdown behavior close to 450 V. After pulling bonds between sensor and p/a shorts are still there. IV curve is better but small breakdown trend is still there. After pulling chip to p/a bonds IV shape is normal, short are still seen.

5 IV curves, module 7787 After dismounting from rod <1mkA
After pulling sensor to p/a bonds Unfortunately due to corruption of root files which occurred in December original IV curve after construction is lost After pulling chip to p/a bonds 2 out of 4 tests show this curve, 2 – upper right curve
