Adenine
Thymine
Guanine
cytosine

3. Each base made from a type of nitrogen; there are 4 base types:
Adenine (A)
Guanine (G)
Thymine (T)
Cytosine (C)

4. Double Helix DNA is in the shape of a ladder that is twisted and spins
It is held together by hydrogen bonds

5. Complimentary Pairing
A only matches with T
G only matches with C
Hydrogen Bonds hold the bases together

6. Genes:
A segment of DNA that codes for a trait (eye color, hair color, height, ear lobes, etc..)
Humans have about 30,000 genes

7. Mutations: (we are not studying the X-Men, so relax)
A change in a gene; a mistake in what the DNA says
Causes a change in the organism that has the mutation
