Smell Molecules 5 Smell Categories
1. Putrid: describes things that smell repulsive. Examples: dead things and really old leftovers in fridge. 2. Camphor: describes things that smell pungent and medicinal (or like the woods). Examples: Vicks Vapor Rub

Smell Molecules 3. Sweet: describes things that smell flowery and fruity Examples: candy 4. Minty: describes a green, herbal smell Examples: mint gum 5. Fishy: describes a fish-like or ocean smell Examples: seafood

Smell Molecules Minty Smells: Have one O atom and no N atoms
End with “-one” Fishy Smells: Have one N atom End with “-ine” Sweet Smells: Have two O atoms End with “-ate” Putrid Smells: End with “__ acid”
