Technical Principles used in Number Porting
In the UK, onward routing principle is used which means that the Number Range Holder (to whom the UK regulatory Ofcom assigns a 10,000 block) routes the traffic towards the Gaining Service Provider. Incase the range holder and losing provider are different, porting needs to be agreed with both providers. Non Geographic Numbers Non-Geographic Numbers in the UK start with 03,08 & 09 which are portable from different Communication Providers - usually toll free numbers & special services numberss. e.g. (03XX and 08XX numbers) 23 November 2018 Presentation title

Porting Windows and Porting Procedure
UK Non-Geo processes are automatically triggered at a scheduled time. The preferred porting time slot is 00:00-04:00 Mon-Fri. The porting request is received from: the AE, Colt Reseller or directly from the customer. The porting date is being set according to the industry lead time after receiving all necessary details on the standard Non-Geo LOA signed by customer. Once a porting date has been agreed with the customer, the porting team will initiate the porting process and will notify the customer as and when required. If the customer does not want to port on the scheduled date then the porting team needs to be notified at least two days prior to port date. 23 November 2018 Presentation title

Once the porting team receives the porting order from the Customer/Sales Support Team, a formal order needs to be submitted to the Losing Provider with the following standard lead-times: 5 Working Days when the Range Holder and Losing Provide are the same. i.e. Porting involves only 1 operator 6 Working days when the Range Holder and Losing Provider are different. i.e. Porting is involves multiple operators Therefore, the porting date must be planned accordingly. Important: Industry lead time is not applicable for International Non-Geo Numbers 23 November 2018 Presentation title
