Update to NAC April 2016

2 Discussion and Decision Points
1) Terms of Reference Recommendations for the revision of the TOR require approval by NAC. NAC needs to approve the membership review performed by the BSWG on April 25th 2) Core NEBMC Direction required from NEBMC members as to how the communication and activation can be improved 3) Inventory levels

NAC BSWG Chair – Susan Nahirniak NAC Chair -  Brian Muirhead (alternate NAC Vice Chair – Jennifer Fesser)      Three (3) additional NAC members - currently Debra Lane, Lakshmi Rajappannair and Cindy Whitman Four (4) Provincial / Territorial representatives – one of which is to be from the Lead Province National Blood Portfolio   Currently Marina Hamilton (Shelley Strickland as alternate) (NS);  Samantha Cassie (AB); Wendy Peppel (Barb Kraft as alternate) (MB);   Wendy Owens (ON) CBS Representation – suggested members include:   Director,  Supply Chain Operations Planning - Rick Trifunov   Director, Government Relations - Lindy McIntrye   Regional Medical Representative -  Ted Alport Executive National Medical Representative -  Cheryl Doncaster on behalf of Kathryn Webert Ministry of Health, Quebec – Liaison - currently Vincent Laroche Other – Canadian Society for Transfusion Medicine  -   OPEN but has been posted on the CSTM website for recruitment of a volunteer

6 Core NEBMC Recommended to name this small group “Core NEBMC”, to add the NAC Vice Chair and provide more structure around communications and process in The Plan

8 How can we improve the clarity of purpose for this core committee?
Are there any recommendations for process for directions / communications to the NEBMC?

9 Inventory Concerns Inventory accuracy
Concerns about the accuracy of inventory data submitted by hospitals Is it capturing “special units”; units in remote storage and crossmatched How can there be better clarity around terminology of inventory cuts by CBS compared to hospital changes to target levels levelling of inventory across the country;

10 Inventory Concerns Inventory levels in plan
The inventory levels / cutoffs that are currently in the plan are not being followed for activation Do we need to adjust the inventory information or change the activations?

11 Inventory Concerns Hospital Ordering processes
How can there be better clarity around terminology of inventory cuts by CBS compared to hospital changes to target levels if no activation of The Plan? Are there still concerns regarding levelling of inventory across the country at the hospital or provincial levels?
