Symptoms & Characteristics Retinoblastoma is a rare type of eye cancer that usually develops in early childhood, typically before the age of 5 This form of cancer develops in the retina The disease affects only one eye When retinoblastoma is associated with a gene mutation that occurs in all of the body's cells

Who is affected? Retinoblastoma most commonly affects young children, but can rarely occur in adults. Outlook or quality of life: Doctors do their best to preserves the child vision. Without treatment, tumor will develop. Treatments include medicine, such as Chemotherapy. Doctors can also perform laser treatment or surgery. Researcher: SD
