Chile OECDE TF on PRTR and ICG Around 30 participants from OECD member countries (Chile, Czech, Finland, Japan, Spain, Sweden, U.S.), non-OECD member countries (Colombia, Brazil, Peru) and relevant organizations (BIAC, UNECLAC, UNECE). Few participans from EU countries/institutions UNECLAC Regional workshop on Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers (PRTRs), Representatives from Chile, Peru, Argentina, Costa Rica, Honduras, Uruguay, Colombia, Dominicam Republic, etc… and OECD, UNECE, U.S., Spain. Also, several organizations from industrial sectors and ONGs, …

OUTCOMES 17th OECD TF on PRTR:
To explore using PRTR data to assess progress in achieving sustainability, the Task Force discussed various possibilities and experiences on how to use PRTR data,. To improve PRTR data quality, (revision documents on Release Estimation Techniques (RETs)). To implement PRTR system efficiently, (collection/compilation good practices in implementing PRTR system. (IOMC tool box)). PRTR databases (in OECD) continued to be updated periodically. Coordiantion/exchange information with other TFs. Agreed on the Programme of Work for , and to send to next JM for endorsement (attached). New bureau member from Spain (Dr. Iñigo DE VICENTE-MINGARRO) in succession to one from the UK (Mr. Nicholas Obe). Currently, Japan (chair), Sweden, the U.S. and Spain (vice chairs) serve as bureau members. (Also changes Secretariat OECD TF: Takahiro HASEGAWA) Next meeting will be held in fall 2015 (data and venue are not decided). The meeting might be held back-to-back with the 2nd Global Round Table of PRTR. (Details will be discussed among the OECD’s bureau and the Kiev Protocol’s bureau).
