Cold (touchable) plasma jet can be generated in earth condition with compressed air and helium/oxygen as working gas. Jet appearance varies with the rate at which the gas is flown, operating current and gas type.
Reactive species are produced in the downstream of the plasma jet. Their interaction with liquid causes liquid property change, which can lead to controllable in-liquid chemical reactions
No matter what type of gas is used, the plasma jet can be sustained in liquid environment (e.g., distilled water, contaminated water, oil, etc.) continuously – No electrolyte needed to keep it running!
