7 Current Issues Developing Output Specification
DfT aspirations for enhanced specification Industry consultation through Industry Plan Group Legal Powers Integrating Electric Spine Interface with High Speed 2 Maintaining momentum

8 Core Specification

9 Enhanced Specification

10 Developing Output Specification
Industry Plan Group Established November 2013 Objective to establish support from TOCs and other Stakeholders for conditional outputs Specification to be agreed at third IPG in March 2014 Options to be developed and costed by December 2014 ECAM process to confirm funding and programme options

11 Developing Output Specification
Legal Powers Will be critical path item – Phase 1 powers took 2½ years Strategy for obtaining powers being developed EWR works in Claydon / Little Kimble areas included in HS2 Hybrid Bill

12 Developing Output Specification
Existing To Milton Keynes East West Rail core scheme To Bedford Potential East West Rail Electrification throughout Oxford to Bletchley. Potential additional W12 gauging / load capability works not included in core scheme. Bletchley Winslow Swanborne Potential connection to Down Fast To Bicester To London Euston

13 Integrating Electric Spine
Oxford – Bletchley confirmed as priority route Bletchley – Bedford likely to be delivered later: Signalling capacity Level crossings Stations Single line sections Bedford station Relationship with Midland Main Line EWR first part of Central Traction Power Supply Strategy

14 Interface with High Speed 2
To Banbury To Birmingham Bicester North Site of proposed HS2 Maintenance Depot Bicester Town Claydon LNE Junction To Bletchley To Oxford Calvert waste disposal site Existing Electrification throughout Oxford to Bletchley (Excluding Claydon to Aylesbury. Potential additional W12 gauging / load capability / signalling / line speed works not included in core scheme. East West Rail core scheme Potential East West Rail Proposed HS2 alignment To London Marylebone To Aylesbury and London Euston

15 Aylesbury Vale Parkway
Interface with High Speed 2 Aylesbury Town Aylesbury Vale Parkway To Bletchley To London Marylebone To Birmingham To London Euston Existing Little Kimble East West Rail core scheme Potential East West Rail To Princes Risborough Proposed HS2 alignment

16 Interface with High Speed 2
To London Marylebone Sidings Princes Risborough Little Kimble Monks Risborough To Aylesbury Existing Potential East West Rail To Banbury

17 Interface with High Speed 2
EWR Powers included in hybrid bill Mutual Programme Risk: HS2 Powers assent in Summer 2015 EWR to be available for HS2 construction traffic via Claydon after 2018 EWR to be built on final alignment with bridges in place HS2 project team included in Industry Plan Group

18 Maintaining Momentum Non-abortive work progressed pending final determination: Verification of 2009 Atkins report Develop Output Specifications & ECAM process Boundary definition & encroachment identification Develop level crossing strategy Structural surveys (including Bletchley flyover) Bletchley – Milton Keynes capacity study Environmental Impact Assessment Formulated consents strategy & draft consents applications Communications & consultation Develop signalling control & power supply strategies
