Colorado’s Cottage Food Act was signed on March 15, 2012 On April 4, 2013, Act amended to clarify a few definitions 2015 (15-085): expands the permitted foods to include fruit empanadas, tortillas, and pickled vegetables that have an equilibrium pH value of 4.6 or lower (created Tier 1 & Tier 2 foods). 2016: look like it will…

SB 16-058 Encourages but does not require food safety training
Eliminates Tier 2 foods Names producer as the person or his/her designated representative Allows a producer who raises and slaughters no more than 1000 birds to slaughter and sell direct to consumers For >1,000 and <20,000 birds, need license from CDA
