Class News What we’re learning! Things to Remember Homework
Week of September 3, 2018 Mrs. Mallory Message me on Dojo Things to Remember Sept. 3 Labor Day Holiday Sept. 4 Progress Reports Sept. 6 Fire Drill Sept. 7 Word Study Quiz Sept. 14 Unit 1 Math Test Your child needs to read, or be read to each night. Record the books on your child’s reading log. Their goal is to have 15 books logged by the end of the month and they can pick a book from the principal’s book club. What we’re learning! Word Study: short u up, bug, mud, nut, hug, tub Sight Words: friend, full, good, hold, many, pull You can make flashcards to work on these. Addition , tally marks, filling in missing numbers Read Aloud – Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom Shared reading – Fun in the Sun Weekly Story – Gus Takes the Train Life Skill: Phone number Homework 1. Read each night and record it on the reading log. 2. Practice making spelling words with the letter tiles in their folder. 3. Read and spell sight words (good, many, pull, full) Keep reading every night and practice your child’s sight words with them. It truly makes a difference. I can already tell their reading level has improved from the beginning of the year! Classroom Needs If you send something in for our class, please mark it with my name, otherwise it will go to their homeroom teacher.
