Government The group of people who control and make decisions for a country, state, etc.

autocratic A system of government in which supreme power is concentrated in the hands of one person

oligarchic A small group of people having control of a country, organization, or institution.

democratic A form of government in which the people choose leaders by voting

presidential A presidential system is a system of government where a head of government is also head of state and leads an executive branch that is separate from the legislative branch.

parliamentary A parliamentary democracy is a form of government where voters elect the parliament, which then forms the government. The party with the most votes picks the leader of the government (Prime Minister).

unitary A system of political organization with a central supreme government which holds the authority over and makes the decisions for subordinate local governments.

confederation A group of people, countries, organizations, etc., that are joined together in some activity or effort
