Love Lifted Me HYMN # 508
10
I was sinking deep in sin, Far from the peaceful shore, Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise more.
11
But the Master of the sea heard my despairing cry, from the waters lifted me— Now safe am I.
12
Love lifted me. Love lifted me
Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
13
All my heart to Him I give; Ever to Him I’ll cling, In His blessed presence live, Ever His praises sing.
14
Love so mighty and so true Merits my soul’s best songs; Faithful, loving service too, To Him belongs.
15
Love lifted me. Love lifted me
Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
16
Souls in danger, look above; Jesus completely saves; He will lift you by His love out of the angry waves.
17
He’s the Master of the sea, Billows His will obey; He your Savior wants to be— Be saved today.
18
Love lifted me. Love lifted me
Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help Love lifted me! Love lifted me!

THE CALL TO WORSHIP Hebrews 12:1-3 (RSV)
22
Minister: Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, People: Let us lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely,
23
Minister: Let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, People: Looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith,
24
Minister: Who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross People: Despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
25
Minister: Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.
26
Prayer of Confession Our Father, we recognize when we pray “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” there are many hidden conditions we have kept in our hearts.
27
We do not want Your will to be done if it involves suffering; we do not want Your will to be done if it involves sacrifice;
28
we do not want Your will to be done if our reputation is at risk; we do not want Your will to be done if it means being placed in a position of deep dependence.
29
We pray You would give us a portion of the humility of our Savior, who, though He was in the form of God,
30
did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the form of a servant.
31
We praise You, O God, because His humiliation was for our greatest good. Humble us, therefore, that we may also be instruments of Your will. Lord, hear our prayers…
32
SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION
33
Words of Assurance and Pardon of the Gospel 1 John 2:1-6 (RSV)
34
My Little children, I am writing this to you so that you may not sin; but if any one does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and he is the expiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
35
And by this we may be sure that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He who says “I know him” but disobeys his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps his word, in him truly love for God is perfected.
36
By this we may be sure that we are in him: He who says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
37

The Proclamation of Scripture Hebrews 10:5-18 (RSV)
46
5 Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, “Sacrifices and offerings thou hast not desired, but a body hast thou prepared for me; 6in burnt offerings and sin offerings thou hast taken no pleasure. 7Then I said, ‘Lo, I have come to do thy will, O God,’ as it is written of me in the roll of the book.”
47
8When he said above, “Thou hast neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings” (these are offered according to the law), 9then he added, “Lo, I have come to do thy will.” He abolishes the first in order to establish the second.
48
10And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,
49
13then to wait until his enemies should be made a stool for his feet
13then to wait until his enemies should be made a stool for his feet. 14For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. 15And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,
50
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,” 17then he adds, “I will remember their sins and their misdeeds no more.” 18Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.
51
Minister: This is the good news of the gospel! People: Thanks Be to God!

I’ve heard people talk about heaven and describe its beauty so rare
I’ve heard people talk about heaven and describe its beauty so rare. T’il, one day, I purchased its title to a mansion in that land so fair. It was given to me without money But, it cost my dear Savior his life. He died on the cross just to save me, For me he paid the great price.
55
Chorus: I hold a clear title to a mansion that Jesus has gone to prepare. Fire cannot touch it, rust cannot harm it, and it never will need a repair. The termites can’t mar its foundation for on the rock of ages it stands. And I feel that it’s almost completed and ready for me to move in.
56
My deed was both signed and recorded the day Jesus saved me from sin
My deed was both signed and recorded the day Jesus saved me from sin. My name was engraved in gold letters in the Lamb’s book of life, safe within. I’m an heir to a mansion in glory when from this vain world I roam. And I’m ready for Jesus to call me And I’ll lay down my cross and go home.
57
Chorus: I hold a clear title to a mansion that Jesus has gone to prepare. Fire cannot touch it, rust cannot harm it, and it never will need a repair. The termites can’t mar its foundation for on the rock of ages it stands. And I feel that it’s almost completed and ready for me to move in.
