2. Timeout/Conferences
There is an injury timeout. All players go near the sideline & all coaches talk to them.
9-8-1f Note: Between downs, communications between players and coaches near the sideline are not an unauthorized conference
2 types of authorized conferences
Between hash marks
1 coach & no more than 11 players
Only coach can use communication equipment (headphones, computer)
Outside 9-yard marks & In front of Team Box
Any number of players & coaches
Players & Coaches can use communication equipment
Only 1 type of conference is allowed per timeout
Rule 3-8: Authorized Conference can only occur during charged timeout or certain official’s timeouts (heat, TV/radio, between periods, & after score)
Coach-Referee Conference must occur at the sideline
