2. The disciples were bewildered and discouraged
Jesus had said He was going away (7:34; 8:21; 12:8, 35; 13:33)
Jesus would die (12:32-33)
That one of the Twelve was a traitor (13:21)
That Peter would disown Him three times (13:38)
That Satan was at work against all of them (Luke 22:31-32)
That all the disciples would fall away (Matt. 26:31).

3. THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF HEAVEN: John 14:1-3
Heb 12:22 describes heaven as the city of the living God
Heb 11:16 describes heaven as a country:
2 Tim 4:18 describes heaven as a kingdom, large # of inhabitants
Eph 1:20 Jesus at the Father’s right hand in heavenly places.
2 Cor 5:1 a building from God, a House not made with hands”

4. THE ADMONITION TOWARD HEAVEN: 2 Peter 3:10-13
Surprising – “thief in the night”
Catastrophic - “the elements will melt away”
Knowing this is coming – “Look for”

5. THE ARRIVAL OF THE CAPTIAL CITY: Revelation 21:1-3
Renovation of the earth and the heavens – 2 Peter 3:10-12
John 14:1-3, “Jesus went to prepare a place, I will come again”
This cubical, capital city is called, THE TABERNACLE OF GOD

6. THE ARCHETECT OF THE HEAVENLY CITY; Revelation 21:10-27
Rev 21:10 – The descension of the city.
Rev 21:12 - The 12 Gates
Rev 21:14 - The 12 Foundations
Rev 21:16 - The city is a square cube
Rev 21:21 – The 12 gates are 12 pearls (1400 miles high)
Rev 21:21b – The street of the city, transparent gold (clear)
