2 Starter Activity A lot of the story The Trouble with Jack is told through dialogue. Two characters talking to each other can give information to the reader. Look at pages 14– 15 and pages 20–21 in the book. List some of the things we learn about the characters and the story from these conversations. 

3 Writing Activity Imagine two kids sitting outside the head teacher’s office. Both of them are in trouble. Write the conversation they might have. Drop clues as you go, before revealing the truth of each boy’s story. “What are you here for?” Harry asked. “Nothing. I didn’t do a thing. I’m here because Mr Henderson’s got it in for me!” Joe said. “You must have done something!”…
