10. Every day, Sadako kept up her spirits by carefully folding paper cranes

she would get better again

11. When she got to one thousand, she kept going…

12. But it wasn’t to be.
Sadako died on the morning of October 25th 1955.

13. After Sadako’s death, her classmates created a monument to mourn all the children who died in the atomic bombing.
