5. MCAS Miramar Mission
Our mission is to maintain and operate the facilities and provide services and material to support the operations of 3d Marine Aircraft Wing and other tenant organizations.
- This is the mission of MCAS Miramar.
- MCAS Miramar operates and maintains the facilities, buildings, hangars, the runways, all in support of our tenant organization – 3d Marine Air Wing - (3d MAW) who owns the aircraft.
- To successfully accomplish the mission there are more than 10,000 military personnel and civilians who work aboard MCAS Miramar.

Three divisions w/in department include Land Use (outside projects, AICUZ & REPI), Community Relations and School Liaison
This office serves as the clearinghouse for off station land use issues and promotes family readiness objectives within academia.
