- Chiron (Kheiron) The wisest of the Centaurs and mentor of many Greek heroes.

A tribe of nature-spirits with the body of men, the tails of horses, pug noses and the ears of asses.

Monsters with the heads of women and the bodies of birds. They dwelt on the island of Anthemoessa and lured sailers to their death with their irresistible song.

The only man to hear their song and live was Odysseus who had himself bound to the ship's mast, in frustration the Sirens leapt into the sea and drowned.

Three monstrous Libyan sisters with broad faces, staring eyes, flaring nostrils, wiry beards, tusks and protruding tongues.

Their heads were wreathed in snakes, a pair of golden wings sprung from their backs, and in place of hands they had brazen claws.

THE ERINYES were Underworld Goddesses of vengeance and retribution (especially for the crimes of children against their parents).
Those that the Erinyes sought to punish they pursued relentlessly, driving them to madness and despair for their crimes, until, through ritual purification, they were cleansed of their sins.

The three underworld daimones were depicted as fierce-looking, snaky-haired women armed with vicious serpents and whips and each equipped with a wide pair of wings.

Three winged sisters who were called the hounds of Zeus. They were known to snatch people away and were sent to torment the blind Phineus by stealing his food.

Two floating cliffs that swung together and crushed anything going between them until Jason's ship, the Argo, passed safely through them. They remained still forever after, forming the entrance to the Black Sea.

Scylla: A monstrous sea-dracaena with the upper body of a beautiful nymphe, the serpentine-tail of a sea-monster and sprung from her waist a ring of six dog foreparts.
Charybdis: A giantess who was chained to the sea-bed and whose inhalations formed a deadly whirlpool.

The nine-headed serpent of Lerna who sprung two heads for every one which was decapitated. It was slain by Heracles.

The three-headed, giant hound that guarded the gates of Hades. It had lion's feet, a mane of serpents and the tail of a viper.

This was a monstrous fire-breathing female creature of Lycia, composed of the parts of multiple animals: upon the body of a lioness with a tail that ended in a snake's head, the head of a goat arose on her back at the center of her spine. The Chimera was one of the offspring of Typhon and Echidna and a sibling of such monsters as Cerebus and the Lernaean Hydra.
